The Flower Farm Cafe is a true family friendly place

Editor’s Note: The Flower Farm is one of our favorite spots to go to as a family. It is also a winner when you have out-of-town guests and are looking for a unique place to take them. The Flower Farm has a bed and breakfast, a cafe, a wine tasting room, and an event center.

The Flower Farm Cafe is truly a hidden gem, tucked away in the small town of Loomis. If you are looking for the perfect spot to take friends and family for a weekend brunch set against a picturesque backdrop, you won’t be disappointed with this place.

At first glance, the quaint little cafe is cozy and inviting. There are pastries and baked goods on display for those looking for a quick bite to eat. A full breakfast and lunch menu awaits those who are ready to sit down with their meal and take in the scenery. Step out through the back door onto their patio, and a whole outdoor oasis welcomes you to dine al fresco. There are many tables to choose from outside, all with gorgeous views of the pond, the grapevine-covered bocce ball court and the beautifully maintained gardens. This place is incredibly well cared for and loved.

There is something here for everyone. Grownups can sip their coffee and order dessert while the little ones play in the shaded sandbox, climb the giant (and mostly flat) boulders, and explore their surroundings. Parents are sure to enjoy the added bonus of their kids getting happily tired out from all the excitement.

A Great Spot for Brunch, Lunch and Relaxation

From the lunch menu, we enjoyed the Mandarin Braised Pork Tacos and the Caprese Sandwich, while the kids had grilled cheese. Be sure to save room for sweet treats, because their cookies and brownies were a big hit.

After breakfast or lunch, the winding pathways welcome you to stroll around the abundant nursery. The scent of sweet flowers fills the air. Plants, flowers and gifts are available for purchase in their nursery. If you have some free time and feel like exploring a bit more, stroll further up the driveway past the cafe, over to the Flower Farm Inn. We didn’t realize that there was so much more to see up the road, the first time we visited the cafe. Like the Cafe and nursery, the Inn grounds are immaculately maintained. There is an event center amongst beautiful landscaping, the perfect setting for a wedding and reception. While we were there, they were setting up for a wedding ceremony. A little further down, there are more interesting gardens and even a chicken coop with free-roaming chickens wandering around. The kids got a kick out of it, and it seemed to be the highlight of their day.

The Flower Farm Cafe is one of our favorite spots to go as a family, but it is even more special to bring out-of-town guests to. Visitors are wowed by brunch, a stroll and exploring the entire property. We’ve yet to visit the beautiful Casque Tasting Room next door, but is is definitely on our must see list.
