Roseville Theatre Arts Academy (RTAA) is located in the Vernon Square area of Roseville. Musicals, plays… live productions. Although the RTAA has productions catered to adults, we make it out as a family for about 3 productions a year. We have our Christmas tradition of seeing their version of Elf Jr. and there usually are a couple of other productions that the kids can relate.
RTAA is a family place and is a family activity. You look around the audience and it consists of moms, dads, grandparents, friends… people who want to see their loved ones put on a show. And they do. When you’re there, and I’m there to allow my kids to see a live production and see other kids performing, you appreciate the time and effort it takes each of these actors to put in in order to put on the show that they do.
Young or old, these actors are committed to what they are doing. Our tradition of Elf Jr. is a good example. The kids all have parts that require acting, singing, dancing, physical comedy, timing… It is worth the small fee for tickets. The actors are entertaining for the entire family.
Aside from the entertainment, RTAA is basically a school and venue for aspiring actors. Families can place their kids into workshops as early as 4 years old as they have classes that focus on a number of age groups.
